Kaman SH-2 Seasprite is an American multi-role naval helicopter from the Cold War and modern times. The prototype's flight took place in 1959, and the machine entered service in 1962. The helicopter - in the SH-2F version - is 11.68 meters long (with the main rotor blades folded), and its main rotor diameter is 13.41 meters. The drive is provided by two General Electric T58-GE-8F engines with a capacity of 1,350 HP each. The helicopter has a classic layout with a single main rotor and a propeller on the tail boom.

The Kaman SH-2 Seasprite was developed for the needs of the US Navy, which in 1956 announced the need for a new, relatively light, multi-role all-weather in-flight helicopter. Initially, this multitasking was understood primarily as sea rescue missions and the implementation of transport and liaison tasks. Such tasks were also fulfilled by the first version of the helicopter - SH-2A. Over time, however, the spectrum expanded, which resulted in the appearance of the SH-2C version, which was already powered by two engines, which significantly increased its operational and combat capabilities. Over time, the main task of the SH-2 machines was the activities of ZOP (anti-submarine warfare) - the SH-2D, SH-2F and SH-2G Super Seasprite versions were adapted to such missions. The latter - the last one in mass production - entered the line in 1990. Currently, the only active machines in use are Egypt, New Zealand and Poland.
