Trumpeter 02867 Supermarine Attacker FB.2 Fighter

The Supermarine Attacker was a British jet fighter from the post-war period. The machine was built in a low wing configuration with a classic retractable landing gear. The flight of the aircraft took place in 1946, and its production was carried out in 1950-1953. In total, about 185 aircraft of this type were built. The propulsion was provided by a single Rolls-Royce Nene jet engine. The on-board armament of the aircraft consisted of four 20mm Hispano-Suiza V cannons. The machine could also carry bomb loads of up to 908 kilograms.

The Supermarine Attacker was created by combining laminar wings tested on Spiteful and Seafang airplanes with a new fuselage and a jet engine. After the successful flight and putting into production, three main development versions of the aircraft were created: F.1 (fighter version), FB.1 (fighter-bomber version) and FB.2 (modernized FB.1 version). Due to the very dynamic development of aviation in the 1950s, this type of aircraft quickly became obsolete and in 1954 the process of their withdrawal from service for Sea Hawk and Sea Venom machines began. The only user of foreign machines of this type was Pakistan, which received 36 Supermarine Attacker aircraft, where they served until the early 1960s.
