Tatra 103 is a Czechoslovakian diesel engine in the V configuration from the period of World War II. The engine had 12 cylinders, its capacity reached 14.8 liters, and the generated maximum power - up to 210 HP at 2250 revolutions per minute. The first trials with this engine took place in the early 1940s, when Czechoslovakia was occupied by German troops. The engine is based on many components and solutions of the Tatra V850 engine. By the way, the same engine (Tatra V850) also served as the basis for the development of the first ever air-cooled V-type engine in the history of Tatra - we are talking about the Tatra V910. The Tatra 103 engine proved to be a successful engine, generating good maximum power as well as having a low level of reliability. Tatra 103 was used primarily as a drive for the Sd.Kfz.234 Puma armored car, which was able to accelerate to 90 km / h with this engine.
