The Triumph Herald is a British compact car, which was first presented to the public in 1959. Its production started in the same year and lasted until 1971 - more than 500,000 copies of this car were produced during it. All production took place at plants in the city of Coventry in Great Britain.
The Herald model was developed and put into production to replace the Standard Eight-Ten (8/10) model in Triumph's offer. The new model was designed from the very beginning as a car that was cheap to operate and produce, and could be used by four people in a relatively comfortable way. However, an interesting style was chosen, for which the outstanding Italian car designer Giovanni Michelotti was responsible. During series production, the car was offered mainly with three engines with a capacity of 0.95 to 1.3 liters. The car was produced in several body variants, including: 4-door sedan, 2-door coupe or 3-door station wagon. In the Triumph range, the Herald model has been replaced by the Toledo model.
