USS Bogue (CVE-9) was an American escort aircraft carrier laid down in 1941, launched in January 1942, and commissioned by the US Navy in September of the same year. The length of the ship - at the time of launching - was 151.1 m, width 34 m, and full displacement - 9,800 tons. The maximum speed of the aircraft carrier reached 18 knots, and its main armament was up to 24 on-board planes.

USS Bogue was the first aircraft carrier of the type to bear the same name. Bogue-class aircraft carriers were based on the C3-type commercial units. Units of this type were built for various types of convoy and shielding tasks, and not for independent operations in strike teams. Hence their relatively poor on-board equipment or the number of on-board planes taken. However, they were built relatively quickly and in considerable numbers. In total, as many as 45 ships of this type were built! USS Bogue (CVE-9) began its participation in World War II in the Atlantic Fleet, which it finally joined at the beginning of 1943. He was mainly involved in ZOP (anti-submarine warfare) activities and protected convoys from North America to Great Britain. During its fourth voyage (April-May 1943), its deck aviation sank the first German U-boat (U-569). At the end of 1944, the USS Bogue became a training and training ship and, to a small extent, an aircraft carrier. In the summer of 1945, he was transported to the Pacific, but he did not take part in major combat operations in this area. After the surrender of Japan, he flew US troops from the Far East to his homeland as part of Operation Magic Carpet. The USS Bogue (CVE-9) was withdrawn into reserve in 1946.
