Chatellerault Mle 31 is a French 7.5 mm tank machine gun from the interwar period and World War II. The weapon was developed in the early 1930s and entered mass production in the same decade. The plants were responsible for its development and production Manufacture d'Armes de Chatellerault. The total weight of the unloaded rifle is 11.8 kilograms, and its length is 1.03 meters, with the barrel length being 60 centimeters. The maximum theoretical rate of fire was up to 750 rounds per minute, and the initial velocity of the bullet fired from this rifle was about 830 m / s. The presented rifle was developed as a development version of the FM 24/29 manual machine gun of the same caliber. The main difference between the two rifles was that the Chatellerault Mle 31 did not have a stock in the classic sense of the word, and at the same time was adapted to be fed with drum magazines holding 150 rounds each. Until the outbreak of World War II, it became the main tank machine gun of the French army. It was mounted on such cars as: Renault R-35, Somua S-35 or FCM 36.
The SA 35 mle 1935 is a French 47mm tank gun from the interwar period and World War II. The weapon was the armament of the Char B1 bis heavy tank and the main armament of the Somua S-35 tank. The plants were responsible for the development and production of weapons Atelier de Puteaux (APX for short). The presented weapon had a barrel length of 50 calibers, i.e. 235 centimeters, and was devoid of a muzzle brake. The theoretical maximum rate of fire was 15-18 rounds per minute. However, due to the tightness of the Char B1 bis turret, it was only wishful thinking. The initial velocity of the projectile fired from this weapon was up to approx. 850 m / s, and the effective shot range did not exceed 2000 meters. The gun SA 35 mle 1935 was a modified development version of the 47 mm APX towed anti-tank (anti-tank) gun. It is assumed that the SA 35 mle 1935 (similarly to its towed prototype) was able to overcome an armor plate inclined at an angle of 90 degrees with a thickness of 60 mm from 550 meters, which allowed to fight it at this distance almost every German tank from 1939-1940 .
