The Vauxhall D-Type is a British passenger car that was first presented to the public in 1912 at the Olympia Motor Show. Its production started in the same year and continued with breaks until 1921. All production took place at plants in the city of Luton in Great Britain. More than 1,500 cars of this type were delivered to the British troops fighting in World War I, with a total production estimated at approx. 4,500 vehicles.
The Vauxhall D-Type was initially developed as a luxury passenger car in two versions: the entry-level 30hp engine and the "Prince Henry" 25hp engine. Both versions were exclusively finished, had good performance and were carefully made. It is worth adding that the Vauxhall company provided a 3-year warranty on its bodies, which was not a standard at the time. During World War I, the production of these cars was carried out in the period 1914-1915, and in the British army they were used primarily as staff cars, but they were also converted into ambulances. In the offer of the D-Type company it was replaced by the 23-60 model.
