DISCONTINUED Eduard 648245 W.Gr.21 for Bf 109 EDUARD

Werfer-Granate 21 (another designation: BR 21) was a German 210mm unguided missile launcher from the Second World War. It was introduced to the line in mid-1943 and remained in use until 1945. The maximum range is estimated at approx. 1,200 meters, and the weight of the warhead reached 41 kilograms. The presented weapon was developed at the Rheinmetall-Borsig plant, and the person responsible for its development was Eng. Rudolf Nebel. Originally, Werfer-Granate 21 was developed as a weapon designed to counter Allied strategic bombers and attack their tight lines of combat. By design, Werfer-Granate 21 was to enable the destruction of the enemy machine at a safe distance for the Luftwaffe pilot. However, over time, the weapon was also used against land targets. The BR 21 launcher was used, among others, during the fighting in Italy (1943-1945), during the operations in Normandy (1944), but also during the air defense of the Third Reich (from 1943). Werfer-Granate 21 could be handled by machines such as: Fw-190 A, Me-109 G, Me-110, Me-210 or Me-262.
