The KHD A3000 is a German military truck from the Second World War. The first prototypes of this vehicle appeared in the late 1930s, and the serial production of this vehicle started in 1940. The wagon was 6.1 meters long, 2.25 meters wide and 2.8 meters high. The drive was provided by a single 4-cylinder engine with a capacity of 4.9 liters and power up to 80 HP, allowing a top speed of 80 km / h. The KHD A3000 truck was developed for the needs of the German Army as one of the standard trucks weighing up to 3 tons. The Magirus plant was responsible for its production and development, which in the period 1938-1945 was called Klöckner-Humboldt-Deutz (short: KHD), and the production of trucks of this type was carried out at the plants in the city of Ulm. Vehicles of this type had standard all-wheel drive (4x4), which had a positive effect on their off-road capability. KHD A3000 trucks were used on many fronts of World War II, including: in North Africa (1941-1943), on the Eastern Front (1941-1945) and in France (1944). It is assumed that a total of about 6,000 vehicles of this type were built.
