Northrop YF-23 Black Window is an American, fifth-generation prototype fighter plane, which lost the competition to the YF-22. Northrop has created a machine faster than the YF-22 and with a more avant-garde airframe structure. The YF-23 also had better stealth properties. However, it was a machine with less maneuverability, more complex handling and a bit more expensive. These elements decided that in April 1991 he lost in the ATF (Advanced Tactical Fighter) competition with the future Lockheed F-22. Only two YF-23 prototypes were built.
