Aura is a Finnish transport vessel that was built at the Polish Northern Shipyard in Gdańsk. The ship is 101.3 meters long and 18.8 meters wide. The load capacity does not exceed 4700 DWT. The drive is provided by two Wartsilla Vasa 6R32 LMD engines with a capacity of 2991 KM each. The maximum speed of the vessel does not exceed 13 knots. The cost of the unit is estimated at approximately EUR 15 million. Aura was built and launched for Finnish shipowners Oy Gaimare AB and Meriaura Oy, which was handed over at the beginning of 2008. The aura was built primarily for the transport of goods and bulky objects with a large mass. In practice, the unit is used primarily for the transport of fragments of large passenger ships during their construction. However, the special structure of the deck also allows for the transport of e.g. wood or gravel. The Aura ship has also been adapted to sailing in icy waters, thanks to which it can make cruises in the Baltic and North Seas virtually all year round. The vessel also received a very good communication system and modern bow thrusters, improving its maneuverability in ports.
